Purim is here! Join us next Wednesday evening, March 20, at 5:30 p.m. for our Purim festivities.
Together, we will fulfill the four mitzvot of Purim and inject some of our special Beth Shalom flare into them. We’ll begin with a hamentashen making party and competition where we will pit two time-treasured congregational recipes against each other.
Which will prevail? A costume parade with 4 categories judged — Best Family Themed • Most Creative • Most Realistic • Funniest — after which we’ll join together for a delicious potluck dinner. Finally, we’ll convene in the sanctuary to read the Megilah as we turn the traditional evening Service on its head.
Here’s what we need from YOU:
- bring some much-needed items to donate to St Vincent de Paul pharmacy (see attached list of what is most needed at the pharmacy)
- wear your favorite costume!
- bring a dairy or fish main course or appetizer. We’ll provide the paper goods, drinks and desserts!
- bring some good old-fashioned RUACH as we celebrate the miraculous perseverance of the Jewish People
Thank you all!
