Please joins us as we discuss Homesick, by Eshkol Nevo. This is a novel of Israel in the political climate of the late 1990s following the death of Rabin. It is told from several voices, both Jewish and Arab.
In June, the Jewish Book Club will meet on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. on Zoom to discuss Destined to Witness: Growing Up Black in Nazi Germany, by Hans Massaquoi. The author, the son of a German mother and Liberian father, was born in 1929. He recounts his early life growing up in Hamburg, Germany He dreamed of joining the Hitler Youth along with his classmates, but was rejected for being “non-Aryan”.
The Jewish Book Club generally meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month, unless there is a holiday on that date (Father’s Day is the 3rd Sunday of June). All are welcome even of you haven’t read the book.
