In July, the Jewish Book Club will meet on Sunday, July 25 at 3 pm to discuss The Conversion, by Aharon Appelfeld.
The novel takes place two generations before the Holocaust in Austria. In the city where the story takes place, most of the Jews have converted to Christianity to improve career opportunities. Karl has converted, but a political crisis forces him to face his past. Aharon Applefeld was an Israeli author and Holocaust survivor.
Jewish Book Club generally meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month (barring any holidays).
