Mazel Tov! to the members of Beth Shalom Synagogue and Congregation B’nai Israel for the overwhelming decision to consolidate the two congregations. May we all go forward from strength to strength. 

At such a joyous occasion as this, a Shehecheyanu blessing is appropriate:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, 

שֶׁהֶחֱיָנוּ וְקִיְּמָנוּ וְהִגִּיעָנוּ לַזְּמַן הַזֶּה.

Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech ha-olam, 

shehecheyanu, v’kiy’manu v’higianu laz’man hazeh.

Praised are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the universe, 

for giving us life, sustaining us, and 

enabling us to reach this time.
