Next Book Club
SUNDAY | OCTOBER 17 | 3 PM
The Jewish Book Club will meet on Sunday, October 17, at 3 p.m.  We will discuss Morningside Heights, a new novel by Joshua Henkin.  This is a sweeping novel about a marriage surviving hardship.  It is about the things we give up in the face of adversity and how we survive when life turns out in ways we never planned.
Looking ahead, on Sunday, November 21, at 3 p.m. the group will discuss Meshugah, one of Isaac Bashevis Singer’s posthumous novels.  It concerns Holocaust survivors in New York in the early 1950s.  The story is narrated by Aaron Greidinger, who finds himself inextricable involved with a group of refugees on the Upper West Side.
On Sunday, December 19 at 3 p.m., the group will discuss Jill Cantor’s novel, The Hours Count.  This is the imagined story of the neighbor of the Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were accused and executed for spying.  The Rosenbergs left their two young sons with this neighbor.
The Jewish Book Club generally meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month, unless there is a holiday on that date.   Please email any book suggestions to Susan Smolinksy hahtool@cox.net.   All are welcome.  Join us even if you haven’t read the book.
