Join BSS’s Tikkun Olam Team on their trek to Beaumont, Texas this Sunday morning, September 10th, to assist Temple Emmanuel congregants who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Meet at Beth Shalom at 6 AM Sunday to carpool and caravan to Beaumont. We will be returning late Sunday evening.
If you can’t join these relief workers on Sunday, please drop off your Target, Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe’s gift cards to the synagogue before Sunday so that our Tikkun Olam Team can deliver them to Temple Emmanuel.
If you can be part of this Tikkun Olam Team, then make sure to:
— bring REQUIRED Personal Protective Equipment (canvas work gloves, safety glasses, face masks, ear plugs)
— wearclosed toe shoes (work boots, cajun sneakers, steel toed boots) & clothes you don’t mind throwing away at the end of the day (jeans are a good idea).
— bring tools labeled with your name prior to departure (shovels, crow bars, hammers, plyers, cresent wrenches, wheel barrow, other implements of destruction)
— bring food & beverages (coolers with ice, water/sports drinks, snacks, lunch)
